In this unit of study at the beginning of the year, students learn about the five foods groups, analyzing good healthy choices when eating and hopefully changing poor habits or choices to better ones. They continue studying what makes a meal balanced and how they need to balance activities in their lives such as exercise infused within their daily and weekly schedule. Throughout the learning activities, the concept of overall wellness and good health is repeatedly references and encouraged.
